Swimming Lessons

Let's Swim

The goal of our swim lessons is to teach participants to be safe when they are in, on, and around the water. Children are encouraged to try new skills, but they are never forced to complete tasks they are not ready to do. We believe that with patience, positive encouragement and frequent repetition of skills, your child will have a happy and successful swimming experience.

Please note: We can only offer swim lessons to members of pools or communities that are managed by Cincinnati Pool Management. The minimum age to participate is 3.

Class Descriptions

If you're unsure of which class to choose, please speak with the Pool Manager at your pool.

Beginner - Level 1

This class is for children who are new to swim lessons. It focuses on fun, motivation, basic water safety, and developing a comfort level in the water. It teaches water orientation, body submersion, beginner floating, and beginner arm and leg movements.

Beginner  - Level 2

This class is for children who are comfortable in the water but unable to swim ten feet unassisted.  It focuses on teaching students to float and recover to a standing position on both the front and back without assistance, combining the arm and leg movements for freestyle and backstroke and underwater swimming.

Stroke Development - Level 3

This class is for children who can swim unassisted up to 15 feet and comfortable in the deep end. It focuses on improving rotary breathing, treading water, survival floating, and introduces the scissors, breaststroke, and dolphin kicks.
